El Dorado News-Times sponsors Veterans Recognition Reception
EL DORADO , Arkansas -- May 22, 2006 A crowd of approximately 100 veterans turned out on Memorial Day, May 22 for a Veterans Recognition Reception, held at the Ellis Conference Center in El Dorado. The event was sponsored by the Area Health Education Center-South Arkansas and the El Dorado News-Times.
The reception featured cake, punch and other snack items, and allowed veterans to mingle and share their stories. The News-Times featured the veterans' stories in a special Memorial Day observance in the May 29 edition of the newspaper.
Doyle "Boomer" Jones of El Dorado is featured in the photo. Mr. Jones is a World War II Veteran.
